Our dentist David McAleavey has been providing orthodontic care in Aylesbury for over 30 years.
David is assisted by two excellent orthodontic nurses. Tracey (left) and Sam (right) are friendly, caring and very experienced. They aim to make you feel comfortable during your visits and provide high quality support to David.
NHS orthodontics
At Temple Square Dental we offer a free, NHS-funded initial consultation to all paitients aged under 18. This enables us to establish whether your child needs orthodontic work, and whether they meet the necessary criteria for NHS treatment.
For those who do qualify for NHS treatment, we provide the standard metal braces. These consist of tiny blocks fitted onto the teeth, with a wire running between them.
The wire is adjusted regularly to move teeth into the correct position. These days, our patients can choose from a range of coloured blocks - pink and purple are particularly popular with our female paitients.

Private orthodontics
This is the perfect solution for the increasing number of adults who want to enhance their smile. It is also ideal for children who do not qualify for NHS treatment, but who would still like to have beautifully straight teeth. Ceramic, tooth coloured brackets are usually fitted to the top teeth.
Our ClearStepTM aligners are virtually invisible, see-through braces which are removed for eating and for cleaning your teeth. They are ideal for adults with slightly crooked teeth.

Lingual Orthodontics
Sometimes it is possible to place braces on the inside of your teeth - called lingual orthodontics.
We will of course discuss all the choices available to you or your child when you visit!
At your first appointment, we will examine your teeth and mouth to assess what treatment will be most suited to you and, for children, whether they are eligible for NHS funded orthodontics. We will let you know exactly what treatments are available to you, and what the cost implications are, so you can make an informed decision.
